Indications/Uses
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV/IM Adult & childn >15 yr 1-2 g as needed. Max of 4 times/day if necessary. Administer at intervals of not <4 hr. Max: 8 g/day. Childn 3-15 yr 30 mg/kg as needed. Max of 4 times/day. Administer at intervals of not <4 hr. Max: Do not exceed 120 mg/day.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to propacetamol, paracetamol, diethylglycine or similar compd. Concomitant anticoagulant treatment (risk of hematoma). Severe liver disease. Do not use during pregnancy (1st trimester).
Special Precautions
Do not give together w/ other pain relievers containing paracetamol eg, combined medication. Patients w/ anamnesis of liver disease or heavy drinkers. Chronic alcoholism, chronic malnutrition, dehydration. Patient on antiepileptics medication. Middle & terminal or possible pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, malaise, moderate reduced BP after IV inj & local pain. Hypersensitivity reactions.
Drug Interactions
May cause liver toxicity w/ hepatic enzyme inducer (eg, barbitals, carbamazepine, rifampin). Increased blood toxicity w/ NSAIDs.
