Betahistine HCl
Indications/Uses
Meniere's syndrome as defined by core symptoms eg, vertigo (w/ nausea/vomiting), hearing loss, tinnitus.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially 8-16 mg tid. Max daily dose: 48 mg.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients suffering from pheochromocytoma; active peptic ulcer or a history of this condition. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <18 yr.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ bronchial asthma. Concomitant use w/ antihistamines.
Adverse Reactions
Drug Interactions
Concomitant use w/ MAOIs including selegiline. Antagonism w/ antihistamines.
