Terazosin HCl
Indications/Uses
Management of HTN. Relief of urinary obstruction symptoms in benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
HTN Initially 1 mg at bedtime. Maintenance dose: 2-10 mg once daily. Max: 20 mg daily in single or 2 divided doses.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Risk of sudden collapse following initial dose. Patients w/ renal or hepatic impairment; angina pectoris. May cause drowsiness or dizziness; do not drive or operate machinery. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, lack of energy, nausea & palpitations.
Drug Interactions
Enhanced hypotensive effects w/ diuretics, other antihypertensives, alcohol & other hypotension-causing drugs. Increased risk of 1st-dose hypotension w/ β-blockers or Ca channel blockers.
