Description
Each tablet contains Disulfiram 500 mg.
Indications/Uses
CHRONOL is an aid in the management of selected chronic alcoholic patients who want to remain in a state of enforced sobriety. The patients should be given a psychotherapeutic treatment to change their drinking patterns as well.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initial dose: 1 tablet daily for 1-2 weeks.
Maintenance dose: ½ tablet daily under the judgement of doctors until the patient is fully recovered.
Warnings
CHRONOL should not be used with neither arterial nor cardiac patients.
CHRONOL should not be used during the first 3 months of pregnancy.
CHRONOL should not be used with patients who have psychological disorders.
Special Precautions
CHRONOL should not be used with patients in a state of alcohol intoxication.
Side Effects
Occasional skin eruptions which can be controlled by the administration of an antihistaminic drug.
A transient mild drowsiness, fatigability, headache, acnes may be experienced by patients.
These complaints usually disappear spontaneously after reducing the dosage.
When acute allergic symptoms appear, the patients should stop using CHRONOL immediately.
Also optic neuritis, peripheral neuritis, polyneuritis and peripheral neuropathy may occur after the long period of CHRONOL usage.
