May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole w/ a full glass of water & in an upright position.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to clindamycin or lincomycin.
Special Precautions
Nephrotoxicity & ototoxicity. History of GI disease particularly ulcerative colitis or severe hepatic impairment. Dehydration; advanced age. Monitor renal & 8th cranial nerve at onset of therapy & at regular intervals in patients w/ suspected renal impairment. Avoid concomitant use w/ other ototoxic, neurotoxic or nephrotoxic drugs. Avoid use in pregnancy. Premature infant (fatal gasping syndrome). Not recommended in childn <2 yr.
