Glucosamine sulfate
Indications/Uses
Adjunctive treatment of degenerative osteoarticular diseases, including primary & secondary osteoarthrosis eg, cervical, lumbosacral, coxofemoral, dorsal & scapulohumeral arthrosis, gonarthrosis, periarthritis, chronic & subacute arthritis, osteoarticular dystrophies.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially 1 cap tid for at least 8 wk. Maintenance: 1 cap bid for 3-4 mth.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 15 min before meals.
Special Precautions
Hyperglycemia w/ prolonged use. Monitor blood glucose periodically. Diabetics. Concomitant use w/ warfarin. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, drowsiness, nausea, diarrhea & skin rash.
Drug Interactions
Potentiated anticoagulant effect of warfarin.
