Per 0.5 mL Recombinant pertussis toxin 5 mcg, filamentous hemagglutinin 5 mcg
Indications/Uses
Active booster immunization against pertussis in individuals ≥3 yr. Passive protection against pertussis in early infancy following maternal immunization during pregnancy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administer 0.5 mL single dose by deep IM inj, preferably in the deltoid region.
Contraindications
History or signs of severe allergic reaction or any encephalopathy w/ unknown origin; neurological disorders, uncontrolled epilepsy or progressive encephalopathy.
Special Precautions
Postpone vaccination in case of acute severe febrile illness, immunosuppressive treatment or immunodeficiency. Patients who had high body temp (≥40°C) w/o any identifiable cause w/in 48 hr after previous immunization w/ any pertussis vaccines. Patients receiving anticoagulant therapy or those w/ thrombocytopenia or any coagulation disorder. Review medical history & have clinical exam prior to vaccination.
Adverse Reactions
Inj site pain, redness & induration, fatigue, malaise, fever (≥38°C); headache; myalgia, arthralgia. Swelling & pruritus at inj site, chills, fever (≥37.5°C); vomiting, nausea; pain in extremity.
