Thalidomide is associated with drowsiness/somnolence, peripheral neuropathy, dizziness/orthostatic hypotension, neutropenia, and HIV viral load increase. Hypersensitivity to thalidomide and bradycardia in patients treated with thalidomide has been reported. Somnolence, dizziness, and rash are the most commonly observed adverse events associated with the use of thalidomide. The incidences of adverse event profiles from these uses are summarized in Table 2. All adverse events were mild to moderate in severity, and none resulted in discontinuation. (See Table 2.)
