Contents
Per 835 mg tab Ca carbonate 835 mg (equiv to Ca 334 mg). Per 1.25 g tab Ca carbonate 1,250 mg (equiv to Ca 500 mg). Per 1.5 g tab Ca carbonate 1,500 mg (equiv to Ca 600 mg)
Indications/Uses
Ca deficiency states which may occur in diseases eg, acute & chronic hypoparathyroidism, postmenopausal & senile osteoporosis, rickets & osteomalacia. Phosphate binder & maintain Ca balance in patients w/ chronic renal failure. Antacid. Hypocalcemia. Ca supplement in childn, pregnant, lactating, & postmenopausal women, & elderly.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Antacid 1-2 tab of 835 mg tab, or 1 tab of 1.25 g or 1.5 g tab. Administer all doses qid to 6 times daily. Hypocalcemia 1-2 tab of 835 mg, 1.25 g, or 1.5 g. Administer all doses bid. Chronic renal failure patients At least 1,000 mg elemental Ca daily (1-2 tab of 835 mg, 1.25 g, or 1.5 g tab tid to qid).
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Chronic renal failure: Take w/ meals. Hypocalcemia: Take after meals. Antacid: Take before meals.
Special Precautions
Periodically monitor serum Ca & phosphate.
