Calcium carbonate.
Description
Chalktab-835: Each tablet contains Chalk (Calcium Carbonate) 835 mg (equivalent to calcium 334 mg).
Chalktab-1.25: Each tablet contains Chalk (Calcium Carbonate) 1,250 mg (equivalent to calcium 500 mg).
Chalktab-1.5: Each tablet contains CHALK (Calcium Carbonate) 1,500 mg (equivalent to calcium 600 mg).
Indications/Uses
1. Phosphate binder and maintain calcium balance in patients with chronic renal failure.
2. Antacid.
3. Hypocalcaemia.
4. Calcium supplement in children, pregnant and lactating women, postmenopausal women and the elderly.
5. Treatment of calcium deficiency states which may occur in diseases such as: acute and chronic hypoparathyroidism, postmenopausal and senile osteoporosis, rickets and osteomalacia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
In chronic renal failure patients: 1-2 tablets 3 to 4 times daily with meals or as prescribed by the physician. To achieve the maximal phosphate binding effect, it is recommended that intake of CHALKTAB should contain at least 1,000 mg of elemental calcium per day. Serum calcium and phosphate should be monitored periodically.
Antacid: 1-2 tablets (for Chalktab-835 mg) or 1 tablet (for Chalktab-1.25 and Chalktab-1.5) 4 to 6 times daily before meals or as prescribed by the physician.
Hypocalcaemia: 1-2 tablets 2 times daily after meals, or as prescribed by the physician.
Storage
Chalktab-835, Chalktab-1.25 & Chalktab-1.5: Store at below 30°C.
