The recommended dose for adults is 2.5 μg of nalfurafine hydrochloride once daily, administered orally after an evening meal or before bedtime. The dose can be increased in accordance with the symptoms, the maximum dose is 5 μg once daily.
Precautions: A sufficient amount of time should be provided from administration of this product to the beginning of hemodialysis. The blood concentration of this product may decrease when the time of administration of this product to hemodialysis is short, because this product is eliminated by hemodialysis. Although this product disintegrates in the oral cavity, this product should be swallowed with saliva or water, since the drug is not absorbed from the mucosa of the oral cavity. (See Precautions concerning use under Precautions.)
Adjusting the timing of the medication must be under discretion and monitoring of the physician only.
