Per 15 mL Al hydroxide 918 mg, Mg hydroxide 300 mg, simethicone 60 mg
Indications/Uses
Antacid, antiflatulent & demulcent in gastric hyperacidity & heartburn. Symptomatic relief of peptic & duodenal ulcer pains; heartburn, acid reflux & difficulty swallowing due to GERD; acid indigestion, sore stomach & dyspepsia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr after meals & at bedtime.
Special Precautions
Hypophosphatemia in normophosphatemic patients w/ prolonged use. Patients who have recently suffered massive upper GI hemorrhage. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhea; hypermagnesemia in renal failure patients; constipation; osteomalacia & hypophosphatemia; Al accumulation in serum, bone & CNS.
Drug Interactions
Decreased effect of digoxin, phenytoin, chlorpromazine, INH, chlordiazepoxide, indomethacin, Fe salts. Increased absorption of pseudoephedrine & levodopa. Decreased bioavailability of tetracycline. Inhibited excretion of basic drugs eg, quinidine, amphetamines. Enhanced excretion of acidic drugs eg, salicylates.
